Orgo is the personal project of Giorgi (Gogi) Dakishvili, one of the most respected and influential winemakers in the Republic of Georgia and a leading voice for the ancient qvevri tradition. Working from estate vineyards in the cool Kondoli zone of Kakheti, Gogi makes Saperavi the way Georgians have made it for thousands of years: fermented and aged in clay vessels buried in the cellar floor. Saperavi is Georgia's signature red grape, a teinturier with inky color, ripe tannins, and a wild, savory soul. This is a beautifully clean, expressive expression of an 8,000-year-old tradition, from a master who shares his qvevri craft freely with the next generation.
