Olek Bondonio, a rising star in the Langhe, crafts Barbarescos that balance raw energy with elegance. His Starderi bottling comes from one of the region’s most renowned crus, known for producing some of Barbaresco’s most structured and long-lived wines. The 2021 vintage, marked by freshness and depth, highlights the vineyard’s signature combination of power and finesse.

Wild cherry, raspberry, and dried rose petals lead, followed by layers of anise, tobacco, and crushed stone. The tannins are firm but beautifully integrated, giving the wine a refined structure without overpowering its brightness. While expressive now with decanting, this Barbaresco will reward patience, unfolding gracefully over the next 10–20 years. A perfect pairing for braised meats, truffle risotto, or simply a contemplative evening with a glass of classic Nebbiolo.

Olek Bondonio used to be a professional snowboarder. Now he's one of the most sought-after names in Barbaresco, farming the 200-year-old family estate Cascina La Berchialla with nearly seven hectares across some of Piedmont's most esteemed sites. His great-great-grandfather helped found the Barbaresco Co-op. In the cellar, Olek practices natural fermentation in concrete vats, extended skin macerations, aging in Slavonian oak, minimal sulfur. He's honoring history while making uncompromising, alive wines.
