One of Italy's most serious biodynamic estates makes its everyday red on Tuscany's wild Maremma coast, and it drinks well above its station. Querciabella farms some of the largest organic and biodynamic vineyard holdings in Italy, and even this coastal entry-level bottling gets the same convictions: no shortcuts, no animal products, just healthy fruit. Mongrana blends 50% Sangiovese with 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot, raised in cement to keep the fruit bright and honest rather than dressing it up in oak. Warm coastal days and cool sea breezes give it ripeness without heaviness. This is the bottle for a random Tuesday that happens to deserve something real.
