A tiny, cult Brunello producer making some of Montalcino's most sought-after Sangiovese. The Salvioni family farms just a few hectares at the La Cerbaiola estate, perched around 420 meters above the Val d'Orcia, and made their first commercial vintage in 1985 after friends urged them to bottle their homemade wine. Production is minuscule and the wines are classic, structured, transparent Brunello built for the long haul. This 2010 comes from one of Montalcino's truly great vintages and is now entering a beautiful mature window. Decant and serve with something substantial. A genuine collector's bottle.
