Regenerative farming meets Sta. Rita Hills precision. Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman's Sandhi project sources this Chardonnay from a tiny half-acre block at Jalama Canyon Ranch, where the White Buffalo Land Trust took stewardship in 2021 to model regenerative viticulture on the cool Santa Barbara coast. The 2021 vintage delivers the duo's signature low-intervention, restrained California style: a wine that leans Chablisian in its tension and shellrock minerality but carries the sunlit lemon-curd warmth that only the Central Coast can give. Reductive winemaking, neutral oak, and zero make-up. This is new-school California Chardonnay with a conscience: lean, briny, and built to age.

Pairs beautifully with grilled halibut, Dungeness crab, scallop crudo, oysters on the half shell, or a roast chicken with lemon and herbs. Also lovely with brothy ramen or sushi.

Tasting Profile

Lemon meringue, honeysuckle, white peach, curry leaf, and crushed oyster shell aromas. Bright acidity, taut and saline on the palate, with a long, mineral-driven finish.

Sandhi is a small production California winery focusing on wines made from select vineyards that have been exhaustively vetted for character, personality, and balance. Founded by Rajat Parr, the wine director for Michael Mina Restaurants, and esteemed winemaker, Sashi Moorman, these wineries represent this dynamic duo’s belief that great wines are a collaboration between man, earth, and vine.

The wines of Sandhi are Raj and Sashi’s love letters to the Santa Rita Hills appellation. Some of the wines are from legendary vineyards that helped put the appellation on the map and some from newer sites. Just like the property that became Domaine de la Cote, these sites are chosen for their ability to produce wines of finesse, minerality, acidity, structure and balance.
