Giorgio Scarzello's Barolo from the monopole Vigna Merenda—a vineyard defined by its limestone soils and ability to layer delicate florality against serious structure. Fermented for 30-40 days, aged 30 months in Slavonian oak, then a minimum of two years in bottle before release. The 2010 vintage shows its age with grace: red and blue fruits, saddle leather, rose petals, herbs, and minerals woven together by silky tannins that power to a spiced finish.

More about Scarzello

Scarzello is a family-run, five-hectare boutique winery in Barolo run by Federico in the third generation. They specialize in the extended maceration and large cask aging that defines traditional Barolo—the Sarmassa Vigna Merenda spends up to 30 months in Slavonian oak. Elegant and long-lived Nebbiolo. This is Barolo made slowly, traditionally, and without apology.
