Domaine Laroche has been part of Chablis’ landscape for centuries—literally. Founded in the 1850s and headquartered in a former monastery, the domaine helped pioneer single-vineyard bottlings in the region and has long championed purity and site expression.

“Saint Martin” is their signature Chablis: a blend of sustainably farmed parcels across the appellation, all vinified in stainless steel to preserve clarity and freshness. The 2023 vintage is crisp and clean, but not lean—it offers juicy citrus and green apple fruit layered over classic Chablis minerality: oyster shell, crushed stone, and a touch of sea spray.

What sets it apart is its balance: no oak, no creaminess—just precision, texture, and length, thanks to careful lees aging and minimal handling in the cellar. It’s everything you want from village-level Chablis, made by a producer with the pedigree to overdeliver.

A perfect introduction to true Chablis character, and a great bottle for fans of Sancerre Blanc, Muscadet, or leaner styles of white Burgundy. Serve with oysters, white fish, or a warm goat cheese tart.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

"The 2023 Chablis Saint Martin doesn't really say much on the nose—a little generic and tight-lipped. The palate is much better with notes of lime and red apple and fine acidity, though again, the finish feels rather monotone compared to others. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis." -Neal Martin

"A dizzying array of aromas range from green apple and peach to soft white blossoms and spice. The texture is dense, but surprisingly good acidity for the vintage deftly balances the richness and carries the wine to a solid finish. Grapes from the best village-level sites throughout the appellation are fermented in stainless steel tanks and large casks (15%), then the wine aged for six months on its fine lees to give a bit more depth. Will drink well on release and represents fantastic value in Chablis."

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
