Folk Machine is one of the labels Kenny Likitprakong makes under his Hobo Wine Company umbrella, his home for Pinot Noir and California's more unusual grapes, from Valdiguié to Charbono. A self-described former surf bum, Kenny buys from dozens of vineyards along the Northern California coast and also leases and tends his own small plots in Santa Cruz and Sonoma counties, keeping a sharp eye on every bottling. These are California wines without pretension: bright, honest and easy to love.
