A Bergere, Champagne Solera Blanc de Blancs Brut, NV

A. Bergère's Solera Blanc de Blancs is 100% Chardonnay—a lineage of technical precision. The Solera method (50% wine of the year, 50% reserve wines accumulated since 2013) creates continuity and textural depth uncommon in entry-level Champagne. Cold vineyard sites in Petit Morin ensure high natural acidity, and selective barrel fermentation adds subtle complexity without heaviness. This is a refined, age-worthy aperitif that improves over a year or two in a cool cellar.

More about A Bergere

The Bergère family's been nursing vines on the slopes of Vallée du Petit Morin since 1848, and in 1949 Albert Bergère officially put a name to what was already a family obsession. Today it's Adrien—oenology diploma in hand—running the show with his parents and sister, working 45 hectares across three distinct parcels and experimenting with barrels and foudres to let each terroir sing its own tune. Expect elegant, minerally champagnes that taste like they know exactly where they come from.

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
