Experience a journey to Lombardy, into the heart of the Italian Alps. Please, join us on Wednesday, September 16 at 6pm on our mezzanine for an exclusive masterclass with Davide Fasolini, the visionary winemaker behind the Dirupi estate.
Davide Fasolini is the co-owner and winemaker behind Dirupi, the Valtellina winery he founded with longtime friend and fellow winemaker Pierpaolo Di Franco. Their story began long before wine: the two grew up playing basketball together, then reunited at university, where they both studied winemaking.
With no inherited vineyards and very little money to their names, Davide and Pierpaolo started Dirupi in 2004 by renting just 15 small, steeply terraced vineyard sites in the heart of the Alps. What began as a leap of faith has grown into one of Valtellina’s most exciting young wineries, with a deep commitment to expressing the character of the region and its native Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo).
Working organically in Valtellina’s challenging alpine climate is no easy feat, yet their persistence has paid off, with several of their wines achieving organic certification. Today, Davide and Pierpaolo continue to champion the unique potential of Valtellina, crafting elegant, terroir-driven Nebbiolo that captures the altitude, steep terraces, and distinctive mountain character of this extraordinary corner of Lombardy.
Please join us on Wednesday, September 16 at 6pm on the mezzanine to discover wines of rare elegance and depth, characteristic of the Italian alpine terroir.
