Produced by a co-op of over 30 families in the village of Ejutla, Banhez Mezcal Joven honors traditional methods: underground pit roasting, stone tahona milling, natural fermentation, and copper pot distillation. The blend of Espadín (90%) and Barril (10%) gives it a harmonious profile—more floral and fruity than intensely smoky, with a gentle sweetness that makes it an ideal gateway mezcal.
On the nose, you'll find cooked agave, citrus peel, and a hint of smoke, while the palate delivers green herbs, white pepper, and a smooth, lightly smoky finish. At 42% ABV, it’s easygoing yet characterful—great on its own, in a neat pour or over ice, but also stellar in mezcal Margaritas, Palomas, or riffs on classic cocktails like a Oaxaca Old Fashioned.
Banhez is also certified artisanal and sustainably produced, making it a thoughtful choice for both newcomers and seasoned mezcal fans.
