Named for Lulu Peyraud of Domaine Tempier and built the way Bandol builds rose: old-vine Mourvedre picked early, pale in the glass and serious on the palate. The 2025 is 79% Mourvedre from century-old vines rooted in the sand of Contra Costa County, filled out with 18% Carignan from Evangelho and 3% Grenache from Bedrock's own vineyard. Morgan Twain-Peterson whole-cluster presses the fruit, ferments with native yeasts and keeps everything in stainless steel, so nothing gets between those heritage vines and the glass. This is a rose for the dinner table rather than the pool deck, and it overdelivers year after year.

Antonio Galloni

90 points

"The 2025 Rosé Ode to Lulu is a very pretty, ethereal wine. Cranberry, mint, chalk and white pepper lend notable aromatic brilliance throughout. Ode to Lulu is mostly Mourvèdre from 100+ year-old vines, plus touches of Carignan and Grenache. It is both incredibly delicious and distinctive." —Antonio Galloni

Robert Parker

93 points

"The 2025 Ode to Lulu Old Vine Rosé comes from 130-year-old, own-rooted Mourvèdre vines plus 10% Carignan from the Evangelho Vineyard. It has a medium salmon-pink color and pure aromas of cantaloupe, citrus peel, garrigue, petrichor and savory undertones. The medium-bodied palate offers concentrated peach and melon flavors, succulent acidity and a long, layered finish."

More about Bedrock Wine Company

Morgan Twain-Peterson founded Bedrock in 2007 to showcase ancient vines in Sonoma, and he's become obsessed with vineyard history. The flagship Bedrock Vineyard dates to 1854β€”founded by Union generals Sherman and Hooker, replanted in 1888 by Senator George Hearst. Nervo Ranch's oldest vines were planted in 1896 on brutal slopes. The Heritage is a field blend of over a dozen grapes, co-fermented in the way these mixed-age vineyards were always meant to be made. These wines are literally history in a bottle.
