More about Beefeater

James Burrough bought a Chelsea distillery in 1862 and was making his own style of gin by 1863. Production moved to Kennington in 1958, and Beefeater is still distilled in London today, one of the city's small band of working gin distilleries. The 1860s steeping-and-distillation method and original recipe remain virtually unchanged: nine botanicals steeped before distillation, giving a bold, juniper-forward London Dry. Sometimes the classics earned their keep.
