Most Prosecco leans on a little sweetness. This one barely has any: the Moschetta family makes their Rive di Ogliano as an Extra Brut. That makes it a Prosecco for people who think they don't like Prosecco (and a real treat for those who already do). The grapes come from the family's own vines on the Riva di Ogliano, the steep hill that gives the wine its name. It sits at the Conegliano end of the DOCG, where the soils are stony clay and limestone laid over glacial moraine. Siblings Elena and Enrico Moschetta founded BiancaVigna in 2004 on land their grandfather Genesio already held in the early 1900s. It was the first time the family made and sparkled wine from its own vineyards. Enrico brings two decades of winemaking to the job. The result has the freshness Prosecco is loved for and more backbone than most. Pour it as an aperitivo, but it's just as happy at the dinner table.

Antonio Galloni

"A lovely blend of chamomile, white flowers, smoke and peach sorbet introduces the 2023 Extra Brut Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene Rive di Ogliano. Silken upon entry, it gains depth and complexity as tart orchard fruits combine with saline minerals and steely resonance toward the close. The 2023 cleans up beautifully, wonderfully long and crisp. It leaves the palate salivating as sour lime nuances slowly fade."

"A pure beam of juicy yellow peach is laced with jasmine, ginger, white pepper, honey and mineral notes in this vibrant, well-meshed Prosecco. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes."

Wine Enthusiast

"A compelling Rive di Ogliano that demonstrates the serious side of Prosecco. This wine shows precision and poise with a firm mineral core driving the experience. The wine's structure and tension create a sophisticated framework where delicate floral notes and fresh fruit play supporting roles. The fine mousse and sustained energy make this a thoughtful expression of its prestigious terroir. A wine that demands attention and contemplation." —Jeff Porter

Fritto misto, Venetian sarde in saor, prosciutto crudo, raw oysters, vegetable tempura, spring risotto with asparagus and peas.

Tasting Profile

Fresh orchard-fruit aromas typical of Glera, like green apple and pear, with a light floral note. Light-bodied with lively bubbles. Very dry, with bright acidity and none of the soft sweetness common in Prosecco. Clean, crisp finish.
