Julien is a white wine from the Bistro Louis Severine project, made from organically grown grapes with minimal sulfite intervention. The wine comes from a side project of Louis Broderick and Séverine Perru, honoring the experimental, exploratory approach that defines their brand. Like all Bistro Louis Severine releases, production is limited and vintage-focused, offering authentic expression of their organic farming practices and natural winemaking philosophy.

More about Bistro Louis Severine

Bistro Louis Severine is a small natural-wine project in Alsace, and New Yorkers may already know half of it. Séverine Perru was wine director at The Ten Bells, New York's iconic natural wine bar, and one of the city's most energetic natural-wine advocates. The "bistro" in the name says what they're after: honest, drinkable wines for the table and for sharing.

Séverine, who grew up in Moselle and trained in biology and wine science, teamed up with Louis Broderick of Basket Range Wine, his family's estate in the Adelaide Hills. They started Bistro Louis Severine in 2019, then moved to Alsace and have been making their own wines there since 2023. They now farm a hectare of their own and buy organically grown grapes from like-minded neighbors, with scattered parcels around Ammerschwihr and Katzenthal and steep granite sites near Dambach-la-Ville.

The grapes are Alsace's own (Riesling, Sylvaner, Pinot Noir, Muscat Ottonel, Gewürztraminer), but the blends are not traditional. Some reds are mostly white grapes fermented with Pinot Noir, landing somewhere between rosé, orange and light red. Everything is made without additives, often with no added sulfur, in tiny quantities. Expect pure, bright, very drinkable wines.
