2020 was an amazing vintage in the Finger Lakes, and although we love this Right-Bank-influenced blend in all vintages, it's especially grippy, gravelly and complex here. You haven't tasted a red from the Finger Lakes like this. Ageworthy for sure, though it's drinking well now.

More about Bloomer Creek

Kim and Debra of Bloomer Creek are true pioneers of natural winemaking in the Finger Lakes, established in 1999. They farm organically across multiple vineyards (Auten, Morehouse Road, Barrow), using no herbicides or irrigation. Hand-harvested fruit ferments with only native yeasts, often in whole clusters, at their own pace without temperature control. Their wines—especially the juicy, peppery Cabernet Francs—are Finger Lakes identity distilled.

White Horse is Bloomer Creek's light-hearted tribute to Cheval Blanc.The Cabernet Franc for White Horse comes from Bloomer's Auten and Barrow Vineyards (vine age ranges from 9-25 years), the Merlot comes from Barrow Vineyard and was planted in 2015. Vinification is similar to the 2020 Cabernet Franc, with a blend of destemmed, crushed and whole cluster fruit fermented in open vats. The wine was matured for two years in oak before bottling, unfined and unfiltered.
