An Oregon Pinot producer making a rare, serious Friulano: that alone tells you John Paul follows his curiosity wherever it leads. Friulano is the white grape of Friuli in northeastern Italy, and Cameron's version is grown in the Dundee Hills and treated with real ambition: extended skin contact (Cameron often ferments it in clay amphora with weeks on the skins) followed by aging in neutral oak. The dry-farmed fruit and high natural acidity make this a hugely food-friendly, textural white that you won't find many other places in the US. A genuine left-field find from a producer who has earned the right to experiment.

More about Cameron

Since 1984, Cameron has been quietly making some of Oregon's most elegant Pinot Noirs from the Red Hills of Dundee. John Paul and crew ferment with wild yeast, age 2 years unfiltered—wines that lean Burgundy, not California bombast. A thinking drinker's Willamette producer.
