Elena Penna and Luca Currado Vietti, who spent over 35 years at Piedmont's lauded Vietti, launched their personal venture in a renovated 1554 cascina in Serralunga d'Alba. The Carrà vineyard lies in the San Sebastiano area of Monforte, where biodiversity and mineral-rich soils produce grapes of remarkable concentration. The wine is vinified partially as whole cluster and aged in traditional botti, preserving freshness and complexity without excessive ripeness or extraction. This is Barbera at its most elegant—ripe wild herbs and lavender float above the wine's iron-rich, gamey core.
