Charles Joguet is the founding father of serious Chinon, the grower who mapped the appellation's terroirs into a lineup of distinct single-vineyard Cabernet Francs. Clos du Chene Vert is a steep limestone parcel that delivers an especially structured, stony style. The 2012 was a cooler, tightly wound vintage; dark and reticent in its youth, it has needed time. Now well over a decade on, it is beginning to unwind into its savory, mature window, with the freshness to keep developing.

Joguet is another jewel in the Kermit Lynch portfolio, the domaine is situated just between the Loire and Vienne Rivers in the AOC of Chinon. Vinified separately, according to parcel since the 1950's, the estate is now run by winemaker Kevin Fontaine and wines are divided into 2 categories: those meant for early consumption, and those meant to age.
