Château Canadel is a small, organically farmed estate in Bandol, Provence’s most serious appellation for rosé. The blend is centered around Mourvèdre, with support from Cinsault, Grenache, and Syrah—typical of the region, and key to its age-worthy structure.
The 2019 vintage, now with a few years in bottle, has moved past its bright-fruited youth into something more savory and complex. Expect notes of dried citrus peel, rose petal, wild herbs, and a subtle touch of earthy spice. There's still freshness, but it’s wrapped in a more textural, vinous frame.
Unlike most rosé, Bandol rosé is built to age, and 2019 is right in the sweet spot—showing tertiary depth without sacrificing lift. Serve it with grilled lamb, bouillabaisse, or North African dishes with spice and preserved lemon.
