Margaux 2nd Growth Durfort-Vivens has spent two decades quietly becoming Bordeaux's most committed biodynamic estate. Gonzague Lurton began converting in 2009, and the property has been fully certified biodynamic (Demeter) since the 2016 vintage. 'Les Plantes' is one of three single-parcel cuvees Lurton introduced starting with the 2019 vintage, alongside Le Plateau and Le Hameau, each meant to showcase a single facet of Durfort's terroir. Les Plantes is the freshness-and-fruit expression, sourced from younger vines and aged in a combination of clay amphorae (about 80 percent) and French oak. The 2020 vintage gave Margaux warmth, depth, and aromatic generosity. A fascinating, vibrant look at one of the most forward-thinking estates in the appellation.

Tasting Profile
