From the Cruse family's vast 400-hectare estate, Château Laujac's 75-hectare vineyard sits on the Médoc's ideal terroir of filter gravels with excellent drainage. The 2016 blend—65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot—shows classic black-currant flavors with underlying tannin structure and fresh fruitiness. The proximity to the Gironde estuary and Atlantic Ocean provides optimal ripening conditions. A well-balanced Médoc from a historic family with deep Bordeaux roots since 1852.

Wine Enthusiast

90 points

"Owned by the Cruse family, one of the big names in Bordeaux wine, this estate has produced a well-structured, balanced wine. With classic black-currant flavors underlined by tannins, the wine is full of fruitiness as well as a young structure. Age the wine and drink from 2023." —Roger Voss
