The newest cuvee from one of the most storied addresses in the wine world. Chateau Musar was founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar; today his grandsons Gaston Jr., Marc and cousins Ralph and Ronald carry the torch from the family's cellars north of Beirut, with Bekaa Valley fruit famously farmed organically. Levantine is their newest release: an unoaked, single-vineyard blend of Cinsault, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented in concrete and bottled young to showcase fresh fruit rather than the legendary Musar bottle age. The name nods to the broader Levant. It is the most immediate, gulpable wine Musar has ever made and a brilliant introduction to a singular house.

Lamb kefta over rice, grilled merguez sausages, baba ghanoush and warm flatbread, eggplant moussaka, roast chicken with za'atar and lemon, mujadara with caramelized onions, a juicy burger with sharp aged cheddar.

Tasting Profile

Medium-bodied and supple, with red cherry, plum, dried herbs, tobacco and a violet lift. Soft, silky tannins, fresh acidity and a clean, savory finish. Easy and characterful.
