A juicy, transparent Alsace Pinot Noir from one of the region's biodynamic pioneers. Christophe and Yuka Mittnacht have farmed in Hunawihr to Demeter standards since 1999, and their approach — minimal intervention, neutral wood, picking for balance rather than power — translates beautifully to Pinot. The 2024 is the unfussy estate version: hand-harvested, fermented gently, and bottled with the brisk red-fruit transparency that Alsace Pinot does well when the producer doesn't overreach. Bright cherry, raspberry, a flick of cracked pepper and dried herb, with the supple, low-tannin frame that makes it ideal at the table. A serious-minded biodynamic Pinot that drinks with real charm.
