This red represents a deliberate departure from Alentejo's heavy-handed, high-alcohol tradition toward something that reveals mineral character and sophistication. A blend of Syrah, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira, and Alicante Bouschet grown on clay-limestone in the Vidigueira sub-zone, with terroir consultation from Pedro Parra. Anna Jorgensen's low-intervention philosophy and organic practices produce a wine of complexity and balance that rewards thoughtful drinking. This is Alentejo reimagined.

Robert Parker

"The 2020 Tinto is the estate blend of Syrah, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira Preta and Alicante Bouschet from a selection of one of their best plots in Vidigueira, which has been in the process of conversion to organic farming since the previous year. The grapes were picked at night, put through a sorting table and then fermented with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in stainless steel with two weeks of maceration and a soft extraction. It matured in used 225- ad 500-liter barrels for one year. This was the beginning of the change. It has a note of ripe berries, aromatic herbs, flowers and spices and an earthy twist. It has a medium-bodied palate with round tannins and integrated acidity. It comes in at 13.5% alcohol. 20,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2022." —Luis Gutiérrez
