Marjorie Vineyard holds a special place in Cristom’s heart—planted in 1982 and named for the founder’s wife, it’s the oldest estate vineyard and often the most delicate. With shallow volcanic soils and an east-facing slope, Marjorie consistently yields a Pinot Noir of haunting fragrance, finesse, and long aging potential. The 2022 vintage is no exception.

The nose is lifted and floral—rose petals, crushed red berries, orange peel, and spice—layered with subtle forest floor and savory herbs from the estate’s signature use of whole-cluster fermentation. The palate is fine and lacy, with bright acidity and ultra-fine tannins guiding the wine through a long, whisper-soft finish. It’s Pinot at its most graceful—less about density, more about detail and movement.

Aged in French oak (mostly used), fermented with native yeasts, and bottled with minimal handling, Marjorie 2022 is a Pinot to decant gently now or cellar for 10–15 years. Perfect with duck, mushroom dishes, or just a quiet night and a large glass.

Founder and owner Paul Gerrie has used his skills as an engineer and avid researcher to pursue his passion for wine. On his travels to France, he was introduced to and embraced the traditional growing practices of Burgundy which he now instills in his own wines. Use of whole cluster and native yeast fermentation allows for the fruit and land to truly express themselves and Cristom has also farmed sustainably since 1992.
