Coche-Dury’s Bourgogne Rouge 2020 may carry a modest label, but it’s anything but ordinary. Sourced from parcels of old Pinot Noir vines located on the lower slopes near Meursault and Volnay, this wine reflects the domaine’s trademark touch: low yields, meticulous farming, natural fermentations, and aging in fine oak barrels, with minimal new wood and no excess.

The 2020 vintage shows generous yet refined red fruit—wild cherry, cranberry, and rose petal, with subtle spice and earthy undertones. It’s light to medium-bodied, with elegant tannins, lifted acidity, and a mineral core. The finish is long and quietly structured, hinting at the serious intent behind the wine despite its regional status.

Very little is made, and almost none makes it to retail shelves—this is a collector’s insider wine, perfect for early drinking or short-term aging. Pair with roast poultry, mushroom dishes, or simply a good Burgundy glass and some time to appreciate its nuance.

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
