The Boucard family has been crafting Cabernet Franc in Bourgueil since 1822, and this Cuvée Alouettes showcases their organic vineyard's lighter side. Fermented in 125-year-old oak vats using foot pigeage and aged in stainless steel for 8-12 months, it captures fresh fruit character without heavy extraction. The 2024 vintage proved challenging—rain, hail, and frost reduced yields—but concentrated what made it onto these sandy-clay and clay-limestone slopes. Underground tuffeau caves age the wine in cool, constant conditions that have preserved Loire wines for centuries.

Loire Valley Wines

The Loire Valley is France’s greatest source of value for anyone looking for elegant, terroir-driven wines. Our collection celebrates the region’s great diversity, with the mineral-driven whites of Muscadet and Sancerre, the beautiful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs from villages like Vouvray and Chinon, and natural wines from everywhere in the region. Sometimes wonderfully fresh and gulpable, sometimes serious and age-worthy, the prices are always very reasonable.
