Alpine red from Brice Omont, a Champagne native who joined this Savoie estate in 2005 and took full charge in 2010. The domaine was founded in 1998 by Michel Grisard in the Vallée des Bauges. A blend of Gamay, Mondeuse Noire, and Persan—indigenous Alpine varieties—from west-facing hillsides on schistous marl and clay-limestone. Whole-bunch fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged 9 months in barrel. Biodynamic farming. Now recognized with 2 stars in the Revue du Vin de France guide, Omont is considered one of France's most exciting producers.
