Domaine des Croix’s 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a prime example of Burgundy’s top-tier white wines, showcasing the grandeur and elegance of this prestigious vineyard. With a history of producing wines that blend power with finesse, this wine offers a beautiful balance of ripe fruit, crisp acidity, and complex minerality.

On the nose, it opens with vibrant aromas of citrus, green apple, and ripe pear, followed by hints of white flowers and a touch of honey. The palate is full and rich, with layers of stone fruit, lemon zest, and a subtle, well-integrated oak influence that adds complexity. The wine’s natural acidity provides freshness, while the finish is long and harmonious, leaving behind a delicate mineral note.

Perfect for pairing with roasted lobster, butter-poached chicken, or a rich creamy cheese, this Corton-Charlemagne will continue to develop beautifully in the cellar. The 2022 vintage promises both immediate enjoyment and aging potential, making it a great addition to any fine wine collection.

If you aren't with familiar with Domaine des Croix, there is one thing you should know: we love David Croix! He begin his winemaking career straight out of viticulture school when he took over the reigns at Camille Giroud (as well as working with Guy Roulot), when he was just 24 years old. In 2016 he quit his day job to focus entirely on his own small domaine, which he purchased back in 2005.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 94
"Unlike other cuvées, the 2022 Beaune Tuvilains 1er Cru was de-stemmed entirely, although it gives the impression that a few stems are ‘in the mix.’ The palate is very well-balanced, with a patina of new oak that needs to be subsumed (this came from a one-year-old barrel). It is nicely structured with a gentle grip on the finish. Classy." -Vinous

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
