The Domaine des Croix Corton La Vigne au Saint Grand Cru 2021 is an exceptional expression of one of Burgundy’s great terroirs. Situated on the slopes of the Corton hill, La Vigne au Saint is a Grand Cru vineyard renowned for its ability to produce wines that balance power with finesse. David Croix, a master of terroir-focused winemaking, carefully crafts this cuvée to showcase the unique attributes of the site. The 2021 vintage, defined by cooler growing conditions, resulted in wines of elegance, vibrant acidity, and remarkable precision.
On the nose, this wine reveals a complex and layered bouquet of black cherries, dark plums, and wild berries, interwoven with floral notes of violets and lavender. As it evolves, earthy nuances, hints of spice, and a touch of crushed stones add depth and intrigue. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with fine-grained tannins providing a firm yet polished framework. The wine’s vibrant acidity and mineral backbone underscore its freshness and clarity, leading to a long, persistent finish marked by both power and grace.
This Grand Cru pairs beautifully with dishes such as roasted lamb, duck breast with a berry reduction, or beef bourguignon, where its richness and complexity can shine. While it offers accessibility in its youth with proper decanting, the Domaine des Croix Corton La Vigne au Saint Grand Cru 2021 will reward 10–15 years of cellaring, developing even greater depth and sophistication. It is a profound expression of the Corton terroir, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship and vision of David Croix.

If you aren't with familiar with Domaine des Croix, there is one thing you should know: we love David Croix! He begin his winemaking career straight out of viticulture school when he took over the reigns at Camille Giroud (as well as working with Guy Roulot), when he was just 24 years old. In 2016 he quit his day job to focus entirely on his own small domaine, which he purchased back in 2005.
