"Jour du Soif" means "Day of Thirst"—and that says everything about this wine. Five generations of the Gauthier family have farmed these Bourgueil vines; Pierre started working them at age 14 in 1979. Certified organic since 2000, all vineyard work is done by hand. Son Rodolphe joined in 2005, continuing the father-son legacy. Pure Cabernet Franc from limestone and clay, aged in stainless steel to preserve bright, joyful fruit. For days when fun comes first.

More about Domaine du Bel Air (Gauthier)

Pierre Gauthier and his son Rodolphe run one of Bourgueil's most organic-forward estates, farming Cabernet Franc the way it's meant to be done—with patience and without chemicals since going certified organic in 2000. Five generations of Gauthier know this terroir; the wines taste like proof of that knowledge. Old vines planted to the region's classic variety produce Cabernet Franc that ages beautifully and tastes like terroir, not extraction. Red Loire that actually ages, instead of asking you to drink it immediately.

Our collection celebrates the region’s great diversity, with the mineral-driven whites of Muscadet and Sancerre, the beautiful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs from villages like Vouvray and Chinon, and natural wines from everywhere in the region. Sometimes wonderfully fresh and gulpable, sometimes serious and age-worthy, the prices are always very reasonable.
