Domaine du Tunnel’s 2022 Saint-Joseph shows just how graceful Syrah can be in the right hands. Sourced from steep granite slopes, this is a wine that balances structure with finesse, offering all the dark fruit and spice you’d expect from the northern Rhône, but delivered with precision and lift.
It opens with aromas of black raspberry, wild herbs, and that classic violet note, followed by a whisper of smoked meat and pepper. On the palate, it's sleek and finely tuned—more graphite than grit, with ripe tannins and a cool, mineral line running through it. Vinified with partial whole clusters and aged in mostly neutral oak, the fruit stays front and center, vibrant and pure.
