BH:"A highly expressive and complete knockout of a nose is classic Amoureuses as it combines seductive spice and a ripe blend of red, black and blue fruit aromas trimmed in subtle floral notes that complement the rich, sweet, fresh and energetic medium full flavors that are supple and classy, supported by sophisticated tannins and simply gorgeous purity of expression on the terrifically long finish. Impressive in every respect."

"This terrific effort has evolved beautifully and still closely resembles my original tasting note from 2008 with its knockout nose that is classic Amoureuses as it combines seductive spice and a ripe blend of red, black and blue fruit aromas that are displaying hints of maturity. There is good richness and a lovely minerality to the naturally sweet, fresh and energetic medium full flavors that are supple, classy, balanced and beautifully persistent. For my taste this could be drunk now with pleasure though there is some remaining upside potential remaining and as such I would advise holding the '06 Amoureuses for another 2 to 3 years first. A first rate example." —Allen Meadows

"Bright, dark red. Pure but subdued aromas of raspberry, minerals, rose petal and flinty stone. Wonderfully suave on entry, then vibrant and sappy in the middle, with pungent raspberry and crushed stone flavors boasting outstanding density and freshness. Mounts impressively on the back half, finishing with outstanding lift and perfume and broad, fine-grained tannins that reach the front teeth. Exciting wine." —Stephen Tanzer

"Mugnier 2006 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses – last tasted from tank, just before bottling – smells of ripe black raspberry pungently accompanied by peat; pepper; decadent, bitter-sweet floral perfume; and chalk dust. This is polished in texture yet possesses refreshing cut of fruit skin and pepper. Again, we have a darkly-flavored Mugnier 2006, with mysterious meat and mineral low-tones, yet at the same time scarcely less airy or wafting in florality – nor, paradoxically, less concentrated – than was the remarkable 2005. The empty glass here is glorious: redolent of green tea, smoldering autumn foliage, fading violets and framboise. This is as close in character as the two vintages in question come at this address, and it would be fascinating to be able to compare them over the next 12-15 years." —David Schildknecht

"Lively crimson. Rich, vigorous nose. Very sweet and charming and complete, though as yet teenage. Worth waiting for? Lovely core of cherry fruit. Neat and long." —Jancis Robinson
