The name means 'stony place,' and the deep clay-limestone soils deliver exactly that—a Premier Cru that sits between Charmes' generosity and Genevrières' austerity. Porusot finds the middle ground: lavish without becoming soft, structured without becoming austere. Layered, evolving on the palate, with the kind of texture that makes you want another sip immediately. This is how Premier Cru Meursault should taste.

Antonio Galloni

"The 2023 Meursault Les Porusots 1er Cru comes from two parcels. It has a fragrant bouquet with crushed stone infusing the citrus fruit and pressed white flower aromas. This is very focused and refined. The palate is well balanced with a keen thread of acidity, lightly spiced with a touch of wild honey toward the finish. I often feel that this cuvée is underestimated by Roulot cognoscenti. On the other hand, in this vintage, it seems just one step behind his other Premier Crus." —Neal Martin

Robert Parker

"The 2023 Meursault 1er Cru Porusot is charming and expressive, offering up notes of pear, orange oil, nutmeg and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegantly textural palate built around a lively spine and concluding with a saline finish." —William Kelley

More about Domaine Roulot

The name Roulot is now a synonym for the very best wine that the village of Meursault can offer. It is rather remarkable when you consider that just 2 generations back the Roulot's were known as producers of Burgundian brandy and eau de vie. But Guy Roulot began leveraging the family's distilling success to purchase small plots of vines in Meursault and by the 1970's was known as a pioneer for producing top quality chardonnay from distinct parcels or ""lieu-dits"".

When Guy passed away unexpectedly in the early '80's his son Jean-Marc was pursuing acting in Paris. In 1989 he returned to take on the reigns of the small Domaine and in the following decades built on his fathers success so well that the wines are now extremely hard to acquire and to afford for most of us.
