Corton is the Cote de Beaune's only grand cru for red wine, and Bressandes is one of its finest slices: an east-facing climat rich in limestone that Tollot-Beaut turns into their most perfumed, high-toned Corton. The 2005 vintage is a modern legend, a ripe and concentrated year built for the long haul, and here it comes from a benchmark Chorey-les-Beaune domaine at the top of its game. Two decades on, this Pinot Noir is drinking with the depth and balance that only a great vintage and real bottle age can give, riper and more open than a classic Bressandes yet still perfectly poised. This is grand cru Burgundy at its mature best, ready to pour.

"As it almost always is, this is more elegant than the straight Corton with an airy, pure and relatively high-toned nose of essence of red pinot fruit nuanced by bass notes of earth and minerality that continues onto the textured and very stylish flavors, all wrapped in a detailed, dusty and penetrating finish that displays perfect balance.
