The most expensive Sauvignon Blanc in Sancerre—only 4,000 bottles annually from methods little-changed since the French Revolution. Edmond Vatan (1929-2022) was a mythic figure with close to 60 vintages. Thirteen generations since 1789 in Les Monts Damnés—Sancerre's greatest site. Méthode ancienne: late harvest, native yeast, century-old 600-liter foudres, unfiltered bottling when barometric pressure is perfect. Exceptional aging potential of 20-30 years.
