From the same coveted Coombsville site, Enfield's Haynes Vineyard Syrah captures the cool, bay-influenced corner of Napa in John Lockwood's savory, northern-Rhone-inspired style. The 2015 vintage was small and concentrated after a tiny crop, giving wines of intensity and depth while the cool site held onto peppery freshness and structure. Expect dark fruit wrapped around black pepper and a savory, mineral core rather than sweetness. Lockwood's gentle winemaking lets the terroir lead. Decant ahead and serve at cool room temperature.
