Arione sits at 450m in Serralunga d'Alba on sandy, silty alkaline soils with marine fossils and high sand content—terroir that yields wines of subtlety and finesse rather than brute power. Boglietti's experimental approach finds perfect expression here: the 2016 shows how Serralunga's cherry-forward Nebbiolo character, bolstered by wild herbs (sage, rosemary), can rival the plushness of western crus.
