We are delighted to host an amazing masterclass with Le Château de Beaucastel: an historic Rhône Valley wine estate dating back to the 16th century. Please join us on Thursday, July 23 at 6pm on the mezzanine for a masterclass led by the château's export director, Emmanuel Lemoine.
The Perrin family has owned Beaucastel since 1909. Over 5 generations, the Perrin family established Beaucastel as the leading organic wine producer in the southern Rhône Valley. Pierre Traminer acquired the estate and passed it on to his son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, a scientist who played a key role in its development. His son, Jacques, continued his father's work until 1978, bringing international renown to the estate. Today, Jacques' sons, Jean-Pierre and François, are at the helm.
Pioneers of organic farming since 1950 and guided by absolute respect for the Terroir, manual methods, and a biodynamic approach adopted in 1974, the family offers a diverse range of wines that capture the essence of each regional appellation.
The estate spans 315 acres (250 of which are planted), characterized by a unique terroir of rounded stones, known as galets, the Mistral wind that blows through the old vines with gnarled roots, dries and cleans the vines planted in traditional gobelet style.
The Perrin family’s expertise encompasses everything from classic wines like the Côtes du Rhône Réserve and single-plot selections of prestigious crus from old vines in Gigondas, to exceptional white wines dominated by Roussanne and, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where their signature style relies on the cultivation, separate vinification, and masterful blending of the appellation 13 historic grape varieties.
The wines are certified organic by Ecocert, reflecting a commitment to traditional winemaking and the art of blending.
About Emmanuel Lemoine
Born in Libourne, near Bordeaux, Emmanuel Lemoine grew up in the heart of the Bordeaux Right Bank vineyards. After assisting his parents for several years at Château Bel-Air, Emmanuel studied vineyard management and winemaking in Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, and earned a Master’s degree in International Wine Trade in Beaune and Dijon (Burgundy) in 2000. After spending over a decade in California promoting French wines for major importers such as Bercut Vandervoort and Vineyard Brands, Emmanuel returned to Bordeaux and joined the wine merchant Ballande & Méneret for two years before joining the Perrin family in Aix-en-Provence as a brand ambassador.
Please join us Thursday, July 23 at 6pm on the mezzanine to travel through the heart of the Rhône Valley. Seating is limited. Tickets for this class are $50 and a $20 store credit will be issued with your purchase.
