Antonio Galloni

95 points

"As tightly and intricately woven as a basket, the 2020 Pinot Noir Block 3 may be supple and inviting initially, but there's no mistaking its honed power and tightly knit style. It offers an array of aromatics, from lifted tones of violets, blueberry and woody herbs to black raspberries to the earthy, warming spices of French oak (30% new). Full of energy and a sense of urgency, thanks to its mouthwatering acidity, delivering assured tannic grip and long length." —Rebecca Gibb MW

Robert Parker

95 points

"The 2020 Block 3 Pinot Noir shows a succulent mid-palate of fruit: raspberry seed and cranberry, cherry and brine. This is a seductive wine of floral perfume and woodsy spice, one that is still so primary it is difficult to see where it will go in the future. As it is evolving so slowly, one imagines that its future is very bright—and very long. This is totally lovely. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap." —Erin Larkin

Jancis Robinson

"Younger than most of these NZ Pinots, which may explain the intensity of crimson. Pure exuberant southern-hemisphere fruit on the nose. The wonderfully gentle texture on the palate into which a lot of work seems to have gone. There’s a hint of dunked digestive biscuits here. Long and fresh." —Jancis Robinson MW
