Influence is the flagship cuvée of Champagne Minière F&R, a family-run estate established in 1919 and now led by fourth-generation brothers Frédéric and Rodolphe. The blend combines 40% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay with 15% reserve wines, aged for seven years on its lees. The barrels are a mix of young (less than 4 years) and mature (over 5 years) French oak. The result is bold and complex, with citrus and chocolate aromas underlined by a long finish, a full-bodied palate with racy acids and a penetrating, saline conclusion.

Antonio Galloni

92 points

"Light yellow. Deeply pitched aromas of peach nectar, honey, buttered toast and smoky oak. Sappy, chewy and expansive on the palate, with ripe, spice-accented orchard and pit fruit flavors braced by juicy acidity. Reminds me a lot of a top-notch Meursault. Finishes broad, smoky and very long, with firm mineral cut and suave floral character." —Josh Raynolds

Robert Parker

92 points

"Blending three lieux-dits and three grape varieties—Les Couturelles (Pinot Meunier), Les Fosselles (Pinot Noir) and Les Fontenelles (Chardonnay)—Minière’s latest NV Brut Influence is based on the 2020 vintage with 22% reserve wines from 2019. Disgorged with a dosage of 4.5 grams per liter in September 2024, this wine offers a vibrant bouquet of sweet citrus fruits, apricot, yellow apple and a hint of coconut. Full-bodied and more powerful than both Brut Zéro and Blanc Absolu, it features a layered mid-palate, a generous core of fruit and tangy acidity, concluding with a long, mineral finish." —Kristaps Karklins

Decanter

86 points

"Fulsome and oaky, quite tightly wound, with woody notes partnering crunchy red berry fruit. Fairly complex, if a little heavy."

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
