From Monforte d'Alba comes Alessandria's secret-weapon cru, the Gramolere, offering a firmer, more structured Barolo than the Verduno wines this estate is famous for. 2010 was a great classic vintage, all structure and fine acidity, and after well over a decade in bottle this one has earned its first window of maturity. Fratelli Alessandria is one of Piedmont's under-the-radar jewels, working with the satin elegance and lightness of touch that define Verduno while Gramolere brings the backbone of Monforte. Traditional, transparent Nebbiolo with real aging upside still ahead. Decant it.

Classic structured Nebbiolo: rose, tar, dried cherry and licorice, firm but resolving tannins, high acidity, a long savory finish. Maturing well; decant.
