Dominique Lafon calls Narvaux a vintage translator: a site that tells you the truth about the growing season while still tasting unmistakably of Meursault. The twin parcels of Narvaux Dessus and Narvaux Dessous sit high on the slope above Genevrieres, where the altitude keeps the fruit fresh. Whole-cluster pressed, fermented with indigenous yeasts, then roughly eighteen months in barrel with about a third new oak and almost no batonnage. That last detail matters, because the entire point of this cellar is that you should not be able to taste it. Guillaume Lafon's name is on the label starting with 2024, and this is one of the best places to see what he is up to.
