Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 93
"Good full red. Explosive aromas of strawberry, raspberry, minerals, brown spices, flinty minerality, espresso and wild herbs. Supple and sweet but very firm and backward, hinting at strong soil-driven salinity and roasted herbs. Complex, rich and intense but powerful tannins are keeping the wine's fruit under wraps today. Finishes salty, chewy, dry and long, with substantial buffered tannins to support a long life in bottle." -Stephen Tanzer

Robert Parker

RP 96
"The 2013 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, which is raised in one-third new oak and includes 20% stems, has a slightly sultry nose at first and demands encouragement, reluctantly revealing scents of blackberry, briary and granite. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and very well-judged acidity. This feels much more composed on the palate than on the nose at the moment, but there is wonderful length and the new oak is seamlessly integrated. Not quite up there with the ethereal 2012, but still this represents a worthy follow-up." -Neal Martin

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
