From the iconic Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, Hudelot-Baillet’s 2022 delivers a wine that is as elegant as it is intense. The Bonnes-Mares vineyard, known for its depth and complexity, produces a Pinot Noir that balances power with grace, and this vintage is a true reflection of the terroir's finest attributes.

The nose opens with a mesmerizing bouquet of ripe dark fruit—blackberry, plum, and black cherry—complemented by delicate floral notes of violet and rose. Beneath this, subtle earthy undertones of leather, truffle, and a hint of spice weave through the aromas, adding a layer of complexity. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet refined, with silky tannins that provide structure without overwhelming the fruit. The acidity is well-integrated, giving the wine freshness and vibrancy. The finish is long and evolving, with lingering notes of dark fruit and an earthy mineral edge that speaks to the vineyard’s unique terroir.

Ideal with roasted game, beef Wellington, or a selection of aged cheeses, Hudelot-Baillet’s Bonnes-Mares 2022 is a wine that will continue to evolve with age. It’s a perfect choice for collectors, or anyone looking to experience the true potential of a Grand Cru Burgundy.

Antonio Galloni

"The 2022 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru comprises two barrels, one new and one a year old. It has quite a backward nose, more tertiary in style, quite flinty, in fact. Blind, I would not guess this to be from this vineyard at all. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe black cherry and boysenberry fruit, fine mineralite and backbone. This is much more open, fanning out with style towards the finish that has just the right amount of edge. It’s very fine but will require bottle age to unlock the aromatics." -Vinous

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
