India's first triple-cask single malt, and Indri's first release: whisky matured in ex-bourbon, ex-French red wine and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, so all three woods get a say (Trini means "three" in Sanskrit). The base is indigenous six-row barley, grown in Bundi, Rajasthan, by family farmers who have grown barley for four generations. The barley is double-distilled in copper pot stills at the distillery in Indri, Haryana, near the Himalayan foothills, where extreme temperatures speed up ageing. The stills are run by Master Distiller Graeme Hamilton Bowie, who spent 38 years in Scotch whisky, and the blending is done by Master Blender Surrinder Kumar. It's bottled at 46% with no chill filtration and no added colour, which tells you this is a distillery making whisky for people who pay attention. Pour it for the sherry-cask Scotch drinker who thinks they've already tried everything.
