Julie Dufour returned to her family's 4.25-hectare domain in Côte des Bar (Landreville) in 2012 after years in Paris, retraining as a winemaker. Certified organic since 2013, this grower Champagne represents meticulous viticulture and traditional approach: direct assembly in press, aging in beautiful blue enameled vats. This extra-brut expression from the Chachigne parcel (50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay, 3g/l dosage) shows precise, mineral-driven character reflecting organic credentials and Champagne's chalk soils.

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
