Julien Barge, the traditionalist philosopher winemaker celebrated for his rare poetic approach, blends Côte Blonde and Côte Brune for this cuvée (a practice he began in 2018). Ninety-five percent Syrah with five percent Viognier, the wine is elevated for 28 months in 600-liter demi-muids from Barge's six organic hectares of 40- to 60-year-old vines that deliver low yields and concentration. Deep garnet with violet hints, showing blackberry, tapenade, crushed stone, full body, structured tannins, and earthy nuance. Drink now or age gracefully over the next two decades.
