Named for a Japanese folktale about a mysterious fox bride appearing under moonlight rain, Kanbara’s Bride of the Fox has a whimsical exterior—but what’s inside is thoughtful, balanced, and beautifully made. Brewed in Niigata, a region known for clean, dry styles, this Junmai Ginjo goes in a slightly richer direction.
Using Gohyakumangoku rice polished to 55%, it offers smooth texture, layered umami, and quiet notes of caramelized pear, toasted rice, and faint spice. There’s just enough weight to pair with food—especially grilled fish, miso-glazed vegetables, or yakitori—but enough refinement to enjoy on its own, slightly chilled or room temperature.
Bride of the Fox walks the line between friendly and refined—a sake that feels both inviting and just a little mysterious.
